YALKU + CENOTES

Yalku Lagoon is a privileged place, as it is where one of the underground river systems of the peninsula flows into the sea, creating a tranquil water ecosystem full of life.

 

Our tour begins with pick up at your hotel, from where we will drive to the town of Akumal where this lagoon is located. Once there, we will snorkel to observe different types of fish, which can also be found in the nearby reefs. We will also witness the phenomenon that creates the cenotes, known as the halocline, which is something you definitely must see.

 

Afterwards, we will visit a park where we can swim in two different cenotes, one open and one cave-type, providing us the opportunity to better observe and understand the Yucatán Peninsula's terrain. After so much activity, there's no better way to end than with lunch in the town.
