Life is full of emotions and stimuli, every day there's something new to tackle, which can become stressful. Come and experience the ancestral temazcal ceremony practiced from central Mexico to northern Central America.

 

The temazcal is a steam bath guided by a xmen, a wise man who knows the ritual to follow. The temazcal is also the structure where the ceremony takes place.

 

Our experience takes place in a Mayan community; the ceremony begins by asking permission from the cardinal points to enter the womb of Mother Earth. With a copal and medicinal herbs cleanse, we'll take time to meditate and set an intention for the bath.

 

Once inside the temazcal, when the steam has completely enveloped us, we'll chant, meditate, and pray to connect with our inner selves, our light and darkness, thus being reborn as a more self-aware person.

 

The best way to conclude this ceremony is by jumping into the crystalline waters of the cenote, a place also considered sacred by the ancient Mayans, and enjoying a snack of seasonal fruit.
